Crafted in collaboration with Unit One Design and Atelier Ten, its features — from pre-war shophouse-inspired louvred shutters to openable windows — offer not only character, but quiet performance: regulating airflow, light, and temperature with precision. Inside, the House is shaped by tactile finishes, richly textured local wood veneer-panelled walls, and sculptural lighting that invite warmth and clarity. Classic design elements are subtly echoed throughout — not as statement pieces, but as part of a design language that values functionality and timeless form over novelty. Dining at Yap Ah Shak House is rooted in sincerity and connection, with each venue offering a distinct culinary perspective. Brasserie Alma on our fourth floor, serves poised French comfort fare — elegant mains, refined starters, and classic desserts presented with quiet confidence. Osteria Gamberoni brings a breezier, more sociable energy, with handmade pasta, seasonal antipasti, and robust grilled seafood and steaks ideal for sharing. At Kiku, small plates with Japanese inflection are paired with a focused drinks list alongside a curated jazz playlist — an offering designed for intentional hosting or solitary escapes. Created by regional artists such as Azaikmal Ahmad Rashid, Tresyah Join, Syarifah Nadhirah, W. Rajaie, and A. Kasim Abas, these works introduce quiet moments of colour, nature, and abstraction — offering a sense of calm, curiosity, or reprieve from the urban melee. Access to the building is secured through a four-tier system: monitored building entry points, lift-access controls, and floor-level security. Entry is restricted to authorised members and their guests, supported by round-the-clock security personnel for discretion and peace of mind.
